La Bagagerie

Our History

Since 1954, La Bagagerie has embodied French elegance and artisanal know-how in the world of leather goods, offering collections of luggage and accessories designed with refinement to accompany the moments of its customers' lives.

1954
It was in 1954 that Jean MARLAIX, creator of the brand, opened the first boutique "LA BAGAGERIE", a 20m² space located on the Champs Elysées. A journalist from VOGUE was the first to be enthusiastic about Jean MARLAIX's creations and had one of his models photographed. The same year, Brigitte BARDOT, famous French actress, wore a ferret hunting bag in the film "Babette s'en va-t-en guerre". From then on, the brand experienced dazzling success and the house "LA BAGAGERIE" continued to grow...
90's
In the 90s, Frédéric MARLAIX took over from his father, modernized the brand and rejuvenated certain product lines. His ambition was to attract a younger, more "cutting-edge" clientele. He therefore surrounded himself with a team of stylists, and created two collections per year, more creative, more current, whose exclusive models are the property of LA BAGAGERIE. 50 new products complete an already very attractive collection each season.
2008
Frédéric MARLAIX loves the world of fashion and its codes, so he naturally calls upon a renowned stylist Gaspard YURKIEVICH. Together they will develop a line of bags called BAGGY, in 2008 and 2009. The following year, Zoé FELIX, a French actress, will become the muse and the new face of LA BAGAGERIE, for 2 seasons.
2014
LA BAGAGERIE celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2014, 60 years of creation for an ever more demanding, elegant and active woman.
2015
In 2015, it was the football club PARIS SAINT GERMAIN FOOTBALL CLUB that signed an official licensing agreement with the house. A natural rapprochement for two brands that share an attachment to Paris and a competitive spirit that pushes them to rise to the level of the best. Frédéric MARLAIX ensures above all the image of LA BAGAGERIE by respecting the know-how and the requirement of quality and perfection of the materials chosen for the development of his bags.

Tradition & modernity

The success of LA BAGAGERIE is based not only on the quality of its leather goods, but also on the prestigious locations of its Parisian boutiques, Tronchet, Passy, Four… Each boutique has a warm, refined decoration, mixing classic, design and chic ambiance thanks to the use of beautiful materials such as wood.

Everything has been done to create practical and dynamic sales areas. The new, very refined colours of the furniture, white, whitewashed yellow with touches of brushed stainless steel, display modernity and conviviality.
